Welcome to the Tesla Ideas Community.

Most cars depreciate right off the lot, stuck with the features that were frozen in time months or years ago. A Tesla, however, keeps improving after ownership, with over-the-air updates that bring new features to existing vehicles. This community is designed to collect ideas from Tesla owners and prioritize the best ones. You can submit ideas, vote on existing ideas, or add comments.

To submit an idea, please click the Submit New Idea button at the top of the navigation sidebar. You will then be asked to add a title and choose a campaign for the new idea. You will also have the option to add tags to the idea. To vote on an idea, simply click the up or down arrows to the right of the idea title/description. And to add a comment, click in the box below the idea.

Avatar screen hold trending idea

I noticed that the avatar screen provides quite a good rear view if you manually rotate the screen (see pic). Unfortunately the view is not fixed and returns after a few seconds to the regular forward view. For better situational awareness it would be great to allow the driver to hold the rear view in place without keeping your finger on the screen. Should be an easy option to implement and improve overall safety.

Remind driver of phone left in car trending idea

The new wireless charging points are a great convenience. But it makes it easier to accidentally leave your phone in the car as you leave. The car should detect that the phone used to open the car is still inside the car as the driver exits the vehicle and use the external speaker to remind them of this.

Mobile App

Detect Driver in Seat Before Switching to Bluetooth trending idea Implemented

When a Tesla is unlocked and you're in the middle of a call, it's pretty eager to switch the audio from the phone over to the car. This can be frustrating when you're in the middle of a call and you are not even inside the car yet. Or when you're near the car and someone else gets in the car a similar thing happens.

Suggestion: use the seat occupancy sensor to check if the driver is in their seat. Once the seat is occupied,... more »

Add 'waypoints' for making multiple stops on a single trip trending idea Implemented

When traveling longer distances or when your battery is lower it would be nice to enter all of the destinations you need to stop so the navigation can tell you if/where you need to charge during this trip. The function of this would act just like google maps, you could enter all your destination points in the order you need to stop at them, with the added function of routing you to chargers if needed, just like the current... more »

Display Both % and Miles Remaining Implemented

There are people that like Coke vs Pepsi. Some wash their legs when they shower and some don't. Is the shoe pink or gray? Some controversies are never resolved.

But, can we all agree to display battery % remaining AND miles remaining at the same time? Then we would all be happy.

Ask Elon / Tesla a Question

RV powered by Tesla?

Ever since you came out with the Tesla Semi I have been thinking about what it would be like if RVs could be powered by Tesla. While I am not an engineer I was a producer for over 20 years and I would like the opportunity to "produce" this idea and coordinate between Tesla and RV coach builders to design a better way to "RV". You may already be working on this but I thought hey why not give it a shot and reach out. Thank... more »

Garage Mode Selected

Have the car auto automatically select "Garage Mode" when the car detects that you are in the garage. Just like Home link knows you're home. This mode leaves the car unlocked so that you can come back whenever to get something inside, load golf bags, even charge without having to get a key to get into your own car in your garage.

Identify Which Stalls are Out of Order in UI Implemented

It's common practice to place a supercharger cable over the top of the charger if a particular stall is out of order. The goal is to save other people from backing in and then realizing it's not working.

The display currently shows how many stays are working, but it doesn't show you which stalls are out of order.

Suggestion: show which stalls are out of order right in the display.

Car cleaning facilities at charging stations

It would be useful to be able to give the car a clean while waiting. Maybe a long reach vacuum hose for the inside carpets etc. Good way to kill 35 mins. An over head shower for the exterior? Cloths could be purchased via a vending machine or bring your own. Could be great for Tesla to have the vast majority of their cars looking clean and tidy on the road.

Passive Blindspot Detection Selected

- When AutoPilot is not activated, and turn signal is activated make a chime or sound play to alert driver to someone existing in blind spot. Similar to the mirror light blind spot functions other cars have. Instead of just a last second avoidance feature or visual on the screen which is not very safe to be looking at whilst driving.
- Could make another kind of "clicking" sound to passively let the driver know someone... more »
