Tesla Ideas Modes

Car wash mode:

 

* Turn off sonar sounds

* Fold in side mirrors

* Recirculate air

* Deactivate auto windshield wipers

* Keep car in neutral (even if seat belt unbuckled or get up front seat)

* Play Outkast's "So Fresh and So Clean"

* Confirm windows are all the way up

* Disable charge port door opening (in case it gets opened by mistake while in the automatic car wash

This idea is to have a mode that super conserves power. For example, if you're in a situation where you don't think you'll make it to a charger, and you want to conserve as much power as possible. Some settings to enable in this mode:

• screen is dimmed
• chill mode enabled
• max regen braking
• climate control set to range mode

Switch from chill/standard/ludicirs modes using voice control

Choose the number of chimes when warning about speed limit

When you're indulging in that uniquely (let's face it) American pastime 🍔 of eating in your car, it would be great if your Tesla knew that you were in a drive-thru. Most importantly, when in this mode, the car chimes would just chill out and stop bugging me while I'm flustered trying to interrogate everyone in the car for their order.

For the Model 3 it needs to be much simpler to switch from chill mode to standard mode when you want to overtake quickly. I much prefer to drive in chill mode as I find it is a much nicer journey experience for the rest of the passengers, but it would be great if Tesla could get the car to detect the accelerator being depressed fully and automatically switch to standard mode until it is eased off, then revert to chill... more »

How about a colour choice of "blued steel" especially for cybertruck? No paint required, just a heat treatment, and it would still have all the benefits of stainless steel.

For cars with HW1, sentry mode isn't supported. However, this idea would be to have a "fake" sentry mode whereby when it's enabled, the screen would display the Hal9000 eye, just to scare would-be thieves.

Have the car auto automatically select "Garage Mode" when the car detects that you are in the garage. Just like Home link knows you're home. This mode leaves the car unlocked so that you can come back whenever to get something inside, load golf bags, even charge without having to get a key to get into your own car in your garage.

A full on teenager mode:

-keyfob tied to a specific profile

-profile is speed and acceleration limited

-radio muted when seatbelt off

-etc

When cars are parked I think this would be a cool option, avoiding others to see missing itens on the interior of the vehicle. (It can also be applied to the headlight of Tesla cars… Batmobile kind of feature… rsrsrs). This could also allow passengers to set the transparency of the wind shield… working as virtual blind.

While camping in Utah without service, the camping mode had some deficiencies.

Ideas for optimizing -

1. Allow remote control via Tesla app in phone without Requirement of LTE.

If enabled, the car would auto adjust acoustic sweet spot of the stereo system based on # of occupants & where they sitting. I.e. if car only detects 1 person (the driver), the spot would move to the middle of driver seat.

Face recognition. Set driver profile automatically to which phone is connected

Make OFF the default for Sentry Mode. When in dodgy areas, the driver can activate it after parking.

It was annoying when I got an alert that the battery level was 20% after several days in airport parking, because Sentry Mode used so much power. Just made it to a supercharger station!!!
