I noticed that the avatar screen provides quite a good rear view if you manually rotate the screen (see pic). Unfortunately the view is not fixed and returns after a few seconds to the regular forward view. For better situational awareness it would be great to allow the driver to hold the rear view in place without keeping your finger on the screen. Should be an easy option to implement and improve overall safety.
The new wireless charging points are a great convenience. But it makes it easier to accidentally leave your phone in the car as you leave. The car should detect that the phone used to open the car is still inside the car as the driver exits the vehicle and use the external speaker to remind them of this.
A dead battery is the worst. Once Tesla designs the new inverters how about adding the ability to bump charge a Tesla with a Tesla so you can get to a nearby charger? Add an S.O.S. button to inform nearby owners you need a bump and offer supercharger credits for being a Good Samaritan. 5% might just save someone hours of hassle and hundreds of dollars.
Tesla should enable Face ID and Touch ID for so no one can drive the car away if they are not the registered driver of that specific car. In the event of a theft the thief even if they break in they cannot drive the car away.
It would be useful to be able to give the car a clean while waiting. Maybe a long reach vacuum hose for the inside carpets etc. Good way to kill 35 mins. An over head shower for the exterior? Cloths could be purchased via a vending machine or bring your own. Could be great for Tesla to have the vast majority of their cars looking clean and tidy on the road.
Tail lights should tell the drivers behind more than just braking, turning and the headlamps are on....
Add a new tail light section ( or incorporate with the existing tail light section ) that indicates:
Green - the vehicle is accelerating
Yellow - the vehicle is deaccelerating
Red - the vehicle is braking
Every time I pull the left stalk towards me to manually flash my high beams, the auto high beam setting is disabled.
Drivers should be able to override the light sensor at any time - or manually put on... more »
What is currently holding Tesla back from being the market share leader in solar?
On my Model S, I can set the height to which the back hatch will open. I have it set so that it can open in my garage without hitting the ceiling. It would be nice if the car could use the GPS and only limit the height when I am home. That way it would open all the way when I am not in the garage.
Tesla model 3 blind spot monitor does not work too well. Wish Tesla can provide an option to add a warning light on each door next to the side view mirror to show the traffic when you want to change lane.
A new mode for Tesla's cars: follow another car. One possible use is when traveling together with a slower friend. Another one is when the other car is showing the way in the city.
Most of the status and warning text is too small to read for people who need to wear glasses for driving. An option for larger text onscreen, particularly the driving information in the top panel (aside from speed) and any of the warning and notifications that appear.
It would be a helpful feature for the driver and/or the passenger to be able to turn off their side of the fan/blower. I have had passengers that don't want constant air on them while I want the climate controls on. Those same people will eventually drive and may or may not want the option to turn off the fan/blower for their side but leave the fan on for the other person in the front seat.
Allow Tesla owner to select text size. It is extremely difficult for older users to read The owner manual or read quick messages while driving.
