Reduce unnecessary brake light activation trending idea

After seeing several videos of angry motorbike riders taking out their frustration on Teslas, I wonder if part of the reason is the activation of brake lights whenever the accelerator pedal is released.

As a lifelong manual driver I have always been careful to change down rather than brake to avoid annoying the drivers behind. I find it most embarrassing that, in my Tesla, I am constantly flashing my brake lights even... more »

Ask Elon / Tesla a Question

RV powered by Tesla? trending idea

Ever since you came out with the Tesla Semi I have been thinking about what it would be like if RVs could be powered by Tesla. While I am not an engineer I was a producer for over 20 years and I would like the opportunity to "produce" this idea and coordinate between Tesla and RV coach builders to design a better way to "RV". You may already be working on this but I thought hey why not give it a shot and reach out. Thank... more »

Passenger seat operation via central screen in Tesla Model 3 trending idea Unverified Translation

During long car journeys on the motorway, the front passenger may fall asleep while the seat is reasonably 'upright'. This can be an uncomfortable position for that person. The driver cannot reposition that passenger seat as the controls are out of reach on the right side of the seat.

Is it possible, via an OTA update, to provide a pop-up menu of the seat on the central screen with next to it touch buttons to change... more »

Touchscreen

Avatar screen hold

I noticed that the avatar screen provides quite a good rear view if you manually rotate the screen (see pic). Unfortunately the view is not fixed and returns after a few seconds to the regular forward view. For better situational awareness it would be great to allow the driver to hold the rear view in place without keeping your finger on the screen. Should be an easy option to implement and improve overall safety.

Safety

Save camera footage for minimum specified time period

It would be a really handy idea of TeslaCam video didn't just erase itself at the start of every trip. It used to just pile up till the storage was full and then stop working till cleaned up. Now, it erases it self at the start of every trip. Nice in theory, but I'm sure that many of us have had occasion to want to go back to an event earlier in the day to check something.

Personally, I had a brick sized piece of asphalt... more »

automatic frunk opening (no app, no car display required)

it has always annoyed me, now with a little baby on my arm it annoys me even more

to get access to the frunk, e.g. with full hands in front of the supermarket, i either have to operate the tesla app or climb into the interior and open the frunk on the display. it's really annoying!

prerequisite:

microphone/sonic sensor in the interior

idea:

if i e.g. knock 3 times on a window and at the same time i am connected with... more »

Remotely access USB Music drive

As a Model S owner who loves t olisten to music (and regularly updates their music library with tracks that aren't available on the various streaming sites), it would be awesome if, when the car is parked and connected to "home" wifi it would/could launch a SMB server so that you can connect to the USB drive remotely (from a PC in your home, for example) and push new music files to the drive. For those of us that have... more »

Autopilot

Option to disable TACC use "dumb" cruise control instead.

I would like to have the option to disable TACC and use "dumb" cruise control instead.

I have experienced horrible ghost breakings. Suddenly middle of an empty road the car slammed brakes for 1 second and continued forwards. There was absolutely no reason for this breaking. If a car would have followed me it would have caused a rear-end collision.

Tesla give us the option to go with "dumb" cruise control, please.

Car seat and stroller

Hi! It would be great to have an option to buy a Tesla safety approved car seat for my toddler. He currently sits front facing in the Nuna Raver car seat at 2yrs old as that was how the car seat installer recommended for the Model X. However, I would prefer he remained rear facing for safety reasons until age 3-4 if possible. In addition to the car seat, I would love a Tesla compatible stroller - that folds down easily,... more »

Sentinel without flashing light

would be nice to be able to chose to have light flashing or not with Sentinel mode. Light flashing can be perceived as aggressive and result in bad actions against the car. I think being able to chose would be be a good thing. I see a number of Tesla users on Forums who would like this possibility.

Many thanks for your consideration.

Best regards,

Autopilot

Let off the throttle earlier on "Chill" mode

When driving mode is set to "Chill", instead of coming at full speed behind a stopped car, a red light, or other, be with Autopilot or FSD, plan the stop ahead, and gradually slow down instead of using full regen at the last moment.

Reasoning behind it: Regen always has losses. It is more effective to coast and gradually stop than keep accelerating and then engage full regen. It also gives a better feel that the car... more »
