It would be great if you could turn the fog lights on or off directly from the main screen, at the very top, on the far left.
Exit and enter a M3 sedan in a narrow parking spot can be tiresome for large people. I regularly open the window completely to squeeze in the car without hammering the door against others cars. Idea:
this could be done automatically (config) switch) by the car detecting a narrow spot and even weather conditions (no rain inside the car).
The in-car Spotify app is currently too limited in UI functionality and streams at very low bitrate. My proposal: - Increase Streaming Bitrate for Spotify Premium Subscribers The current streaming quality is noticeably low bitrate. I already pay a Spotify subscription so that I can stream high quality (320kbps) audio. If I have to pay for Tesla Premium Connectivity on top of this, then I should not have to take a bitrate... more »
Given that Tesla has opened the door to paid DLC (speed boost for 2K), I would suggest giving SR+ owners the option to pay to upgrade to Premium interior. Some of us could not afford the LR versions but would be perfectly willing to pay 1K or 2K to have the full sound capabilities and real time traffic navigation. I understand that it would be ideal if OTAs remained free, but in this case I see a win-win situation for... more »
No rolling the opposite direction of the gear. A car in drive can't roll backwards and a car in reverse can't roll forwards. Whether this is accomplished with a half hold/creep mode or just a "The car always automatically 'Holds' at zero" (no special song and dance with the brake pedal) I'm fine with. Auto hold at zero is probably the most straight forward. Basically, once the car is going zero only the accelerator can... more »
When in park, all the rear cameras would look for cyclists (or cars) coming up from behind and show some kind of alert so you don't door a cyclist. When you're parked next to a bike lane, show a warning when in park to look out for cyclists.
There are a lot of incidents where people damage or destroy their FWD because the door is open and the driver moves the car without realizing. I thought it might be a good idea to have an option (on/off switch) that, when introduced, defaults to ON, where opening the FWD while in park means the car cannot be taken out of "park" until the door is closed. Probably only Park and Neutral, and both offer more significant... more »
The idea would be to receive the amber alert signal, and parse it for license plate info and vehicle descriptions. Then use the front facing camera to search for that license plate or vehicle in the surrounding area.
When the vehicle is in park, use all the cameras to stitch together a view of what's around your car.
It would be nice if there was a way to communicate with other drivers in a less one-dimensional way by having a "friendly" horn sound option. A really good example is this video:
Here is some random test
In addition to tilting the rear mirrors down when backing up, it would be helpful to show the side cameras when backing up on the display. Especially since the S/X is so wide, its helpful to see the curb when parking.
Record from all cameras when pulled over by the police (even the inside camera on the Model 3).
Accidentally leaving a child in the back seat, especially on hot days, has become a national epidemic. Even the most well meaning parent occasionally becomes preoccupied, which can lead to tragedy. This modification would create a Child Safety mode which, when turned on via software, will create audio and visual (on touchscreen) reminders that a child is in the back seat. It would be triggered whenever the car is put... more »
