Touchscreen

More Weather Features / Weather Widget

In addition to the clock widget on the dashboard screen, how about a simple weather widget? Also, additional weather information in the route planning and on the map would be helpful. For example, the route planner could display what temperature it will be at the destination location (based on the time of arrival of course).

Charging

Smart charging time using weather forecast

In Quebec like elsewhere, we pay our Hydro Electricity based on outside temp. If temp < -12°c, electricity cost 6x. Can we get custom charging based on outside temp forecast? If weather expects temps to drop, charge now. If temp is to rise, charge when > -12°c when possible

Safety

Add NOAA Weather Radio

A glass-roofed car should avoid hail-producing severe thunderstorms. Add the 7 weather radio frequencies so we receive instant severe weather warnings before we drive into damaging hail. 162.400-162.550 MHz. Works in US (NOAA) & Canada (Environment Canada). Could save me a lot of heartache.

Convenience

Auto Wiper adjustment

Since the auto wiper function is AI-based it should quickly understand and remember that when I regularly push the manual wipe button, I want the frequency to increase. How else could it be doing deep learning? This is my only way to tell the algorithm that it waits too long between wiping.

Modes

Winter driving mode

Have a button on the screen when temperatures fall below e.g. 4 degrees C to set winter mode: reduce regen brake, chill mode on, and whatever other settings improve safe driving on ice and snow.

Edit:

-set wipers up higher (like service mode) so the wipers can be kept warm and don't freeze

Charging

Power wall - use grid to match vampire drain

Power wall drains to zero with internal discharge at about 2% per day. The last two summers my solar panels have gone off line once from grid surge and then from bad connectors (same issue as Wal-Mart lawsuit) and it takes over a month for service or repairs by which point PowerWall has gone to zero allowing no backup power. At that point you just hope National Weather Service triggers Storm Watch in enough time to recharge... more »
