Improve Spotify

The in-car Spotify app is currently too limited in UI functionality and streams at very low bitrate. My proposal:

- Increase Streaming Bitrate for Spotify Premium Subscribers
The current streaming quality is noticeably low bitrate. I already pay a Spotify subscription so that I can stream high quality (320kbps) audio. If I have to pay for Tesla Premium Connectivity on top of this, then I should not have to take a bitrate... more »

Passenger seat operation via central screen in Tesla Model 3 Unverified Translation

During long car journeys on the motorway, the front passenger may fall asleep while the seat is reasonably 'upright'. This can be an uncomfortable position for that person. The driver cannot reposition that passenger seat as the controls are out of reach on the right side of the seat.

Is it possible, via an OTA update, to provide a pop-up menu of the seat on the central screen with next to it touch buttons to change... more »

Secondary function for right steering wheel button

This mostly pertains to the model 3 but could be for other models.

Idea: Add more functions to the right steering wheel button. When not in autopilot, it's useless. Add a setting to be able to choose what it controls. Primarily, I would like it to control AC. With the model 3 it's not very safe having to look on the screen where to touch and slide. Making it a steering wheel button could be safer and more convenient.... more »

Mobile App

A quick way to switch between the Tesla's you own Implemented

I have a Model S and a Model 3. The model 3 operates with Phone key, but when my Model S is active in the app, the key of the Model 3 is not active (which makes sense).

I'd like a quicker way to switch between cars, this could be through a widget, so that I can access the model 3 quicker.

Sure, If I think about it ahead of time and swich cars all is fine. But quite regularly I'm already in front of the model 3 and then... more »

Mobile App

Skip/Rewind Podcast with buttons on steering wheel

At this time, the buttons on the wheel will skip to the next podcast. This isn't very helpful at all. When listening to a long podcast, the infotainment system will often lose your place when you finish your drive. It would be nice to have it begin where it left off. Since it often doesn't do that, it would be nice to be able to jump forward in programmable steps like 15 or 30 seconds rather than trying to use the progress... more »

Teams in-car integration

The Tesla App ecosystem has some limitations. In this pandemic the use of Teams has increased dramatically, and I have found myself using it even while on the move. It is unlawful in many countries to fiddle with your phone while driving, so even if you start the conference not driving, it stays on until you have found a safe spot to stop at and discontinue your participation. It would be nice to have it enabled so as... more »

Autopilot

Hand Detection touch sensitive steering

Please add touch sensitivity to steering wheel which detects hand or fingers, rather than asking to put pressure on steering every 30 seconds or so.

No fingers, alert the driver

10 sec wait and no hands detected, pull safely to the side and stop.

Also add gestures on this sensitive area to take actions. Without taking hands off:

- takeover steering quietly ( 4 finger wrap)

- increasing/decreasing speed (left or right... more »

Use scroll wheel to scan Sentry Mode footage Edited

The video footage could be rewinded 10s or jump forwards 10s using one the steering wheel scroll wheels. The other scroll wheel could be used for every 5s.

You should also be able to do this by tapping twice to the right or left of the video on the touchscreen.

Additionally, add a button on the touchscreen to view the next or previous 10s (like in YouTube app)

Smart Audio: Spoken Word Support

When I am listening to an audiobook or a podcast I'm 100% listening. I want to distractions. If I do miss something, I need super fine audio scrubbing tools to get back exactly to the right spot so I can resume listening.

Currently when listening to spoken word audio via BT, there are no scrubbing controls. I have to go to my phone to find where I left off.

It would great if the car knew the audio playing was spoken... more »

Add Shortcut for Steering Wheel Heater

To turn on the steering wheel heater on the Model Y requires 3 button clicks.  A couple improvements can be made for this:

As part of the drivers profile, provide an optional setting to automatically activate the steering wheel heater when the inside temp is below a certain temperature.

Provide a shortcut for turning on/off the heated steering wheel along the bottom of the screen, or alternatively on the "car" shortcuts... more »

Safety

Would it be possible to integrate adaptive hand controls?

Would it be possible to integrate adaptive hand controls into autopilot/self drive mode to assist people with disabilities? (People who cannot use pedal or have limited or no foot control.) Or integrate other adaptive technologies to assist. I am interested in  Model Y. My family owns other performance model Teslas.
