Passive Blindspot Detection Selected

- When AutoPilot is not activated, and turn signal is activated make a chime or sound play to alert driver to someone existing in blind spot. Similar to the mirror light blind spot functions other cars have. Instead of just a last second avoidance feature or visual on the screen which is not very safe to be looking at whilst driving.
- Could make another kind of "clicking" sound to passively let the driver know someone... more »

Convenience

Trailer backing aids

There is already a predictive path that shows on the reverse camera when backing up. An even more difficult task is trying to back up while connected to a trailer. The path of the trailer is opposite the path of the vehicle; unless you practice regularly it can be difficult and you can get yourself in a position that is hard to recover from in a tight space.

When the vehicle is in trailer mode, it would be extremely... more »

Alarm Bells Off when home/location

When pulling into my garage there are about 100 bells, warnings, lights, etc going off. Usually about sides and front, homelink, etc. My biggest fear is I would miss the BIG one (ie Falcon Door is still open).

It would be nice if we could tune down all tones unless < 2" crash and falcon doors open, trunk open, etc.

Intelligent Traffic Lights for increased traffic efficiency Edited

Apologies for trying "too hard" on this, but I just really wanted the idea to be taken seriously while not knowing how.

Does it make sense to anyone else, this day in age, that you are sitting in an empty intersection with a red light for several minutes, unable to drive through or turn left. Or stuck in traffic on city streets where your green light is obscenely too short to let enough throughput.

Traffic is becoming... more »

Safety

Allow users to add safety points of interest (POI) to maps

Supporting WAZE has already been submitted but another option may be to allow users to load manually, or from a file, speed and red light cameras in the same way Garmin support these with Garmin Cyclops. Having this situational awareness is an important safety feature, and something I really miss now that I no longer have a $150 Garmin GPS.

Intelligent Alerts on Cameras not Working

I'm living country-side, and each time I drive at night, I get constant alerts from the M3 that the side cameras are covered or not working. I get it - it's dark outside (pitch dark), and as the cameras can't see anything, they assume they're not working.

Would it be possible to link the error reporting to the front camera/light sensor, so that the car knows of this scenario and are less sensitive to the issue when driving... more »

Convenience

Open frunk on proximity either after some delay or using cameras

Opening frunk currently is really cumbersome especially when your hands are busy carrying stuff. You either have to fumble with your phone to find a quick action and press it or get inside the car and use touch screen.

The idea is to use Bluetooth proximity for a linked phone to not only unlock the car but also to start monitoring driver's position.

If the driver stops by the frunk for a few seconds frunk magically... more »

Turn on rear view camera on home link automatic garage open

When I come home my garage door automatically opens thanks to homelink aka batman mode.

Then I manually turn on the rear view camera so I know when I've entered the garage threashold (I know, first world problems).  Now I don't need a tennis ball or laser guides to know how far to pull in.

I would love there to be an option for auto-rear view cameras on homelink just like there is for auto-fold mirrors.

Convenience

Windshield as a camera

The idea is to put multiple fisheye cameras around the perimeter of the windshield and have the synced and calibrated to the center focal point. They would be encased to prevent from damage, kind of like a rope light. This could be used to take scenic views on your drive or record during an event of interest of distress. All controlled from the steering wheel for the driver and from the dash for the passenger.
